Mallanna – Movie Review

mallanna-movie-poster-designs-4

Mallanna – movie with a message, but also with some of the unnecessary things which spoilt the movie to a large extent. In fact it was the movie not only with a message, but also with some hypothetical facts present and going around in our country. But the concept used in this film has become a cliché and should have been handled well, in fact very well. The film was sounding good at technical aspects but some things which made people to endure and not really enjoy the movie.

Mallanna – A CBI officer with his 11 friends (also IPS graduates) who hold different posts in police department and form a team to bring out the black money by raiding the houses of big business men and of people who earn money illegally and take some percentage of the money and distribute among people who are in need and to eradicate poverty. They follow different means to do this and in the mean time with no reason he comes across Subba Lakshmi (Shriya) – daughter of one of the victim (Aashish Vidyarthi) and chemistry between them was dilatory. This will be depicted as Lord “Mallanna” is responsible for all these (people believe). Shriya wants to take revenge from Mallanna for making his father paralyzed. And the story goes on…. and obviously happy ending.

Coming to the technical aspects of the movie, the camera (don’t know what to call that) which is dominant in brown color has been extensively used and that gave me a feeling that I was watching the movie with Sunglasses onJ. The stunts were mediocre. While watching the songs of the movie got an doubt that is Shriya a heroine or an item girl in the movie. (In olden days – not that old) in some songs and in some scenes those type of costumes were worn by Item gals but in this movie got a feeling that Shriya herself serving the purpose. (In song especially Meow Meow).

In my observation the director wanted to show the reality but after watching the movie I felt that it was exaggerated. Lack of comedy caused detriment to the movie and there was surprisingly not a single humorous bit in the movie. Songs were coming and going just like ads between each over of a cricket match. Before forgetting the feral effect of the previous effect of the song another appeared, thank god atleast thank the director as he has limited the songs to 7, thanks to the protocol that any film should have atleast 6 songs – (just kidding but they usually do as it is a protocol and make the film miss the plot – are they really needed is a big”?”. Basically the movie has lost its track to the love story and songs and they played a forestall play in the movie. The movie was very long and it was elasticized to max extent and one of my friend commented “It is like I am watching this movie since 2 days JJ and yet it’s not over. And we can thank director for showing us Mexico just for the sake of showing and a song simply for that and I found no reason why the song was shot (Mambo) and the lyrics were not at all sync with the storyline.

Some of the interesting things are in one scene the Hero with be held and knelt down with his eyes tied and about 6 people around him stand with guns( remember they had guns) aimed at him. After that a car rams into them by a undercover police officer – hero’s friend (played by the director himself) and then a fighting starts where the hero exhibits his skills fighting with his eyes tied up and killing people around him. And they just fight with the hero, but where the guns which were previously aimed at the hero???.

The producer must have distributed the money spent on this movie to poor people instead of making this movie.

At last just want to say Mallanna lacked something not in the acting department (Vikram had good job as always he does), but in the screenplay where people didn’t get what was really happening.

Bottom Line: – Hmmmm ….. Ok, watch it on your own risk. Cannot say more than this.

Love Aaj Kal – Movie Review

love-aaj-kal-movie-preview-9067If you are tired of the day work, and want some pleasant experience which removes the feeling of tiresome, go watch “Love Aaj Kal”. It is just like feeling cool breeze which comes your way when you stand on top of a hill station and which gives a gratifying feeling. Go watch and return with a smile on your face.

The two dialogues in the movie when a girl (not Deepika) asks Saif, that does he really love him, Saif says ‘LOVE’, Actually he didn’t sort it out till now what is love. So the girl says “Call me when you sort it out till then good bye”. This is all about Love Aaj Kal.

Jai (Saif) is happy go life kinds of a person living in London who always wanna does and take things practically. He never understands the meaning of Love (even me too even after watching this movieJ), but understands that what all he really did and had the feeling is really Love. Well, Deepika is the person with whom he shares everything in his life and never understands he loves her. They break up in the starting of the movie due to their personal reasons and want to continue communicating with each other through phone, mails etc(Deepika would be leaving for India after break up). Saif have dreams to get into the largest construction firm in San Francisco. He treats this dream to be important rather than Deepika. While In India Rahul Khanna and Deepika make a couple.. Important thing to mention here is the role of Rishi Kapoor who relates Saif’s decisions to his life and he tells his story whenever Saif asks him. The movie ends with an interesting note, can say its Imtiaz Ali’s style of making a movie.

Imtiaz Ali has proved to be again a potential movie maker with Love Aaj Kal. The past of Rishi Kapoor was well handled by the director and surprisingly used Saif in the flashback of Rishi Kapoor’s Love story. And the girl (Rishi Kapoor’s lover) is cute with genuine charm and made not only Rishi Kapoor but also much of the audience to praise her beauty. Deepika really did well, better than her previous movies and was very interesting to see her presenting her acting skills. The chemistry between Saif and Deepika was drafted with modesty. Thanks to the director to portray that with an aura of congeniality. The dialogues may to some extent didn’t work out work for the movie but were meaningful. Especially with no action sequences, lewd scenes, chaos consequences, havoc situations Love Aaj Kal is O.K; Songs are good and same concept of last song after the end of the movie.

Bottom Line: – Give it a try, definetly not a bad movie but surely a soothing movie which will not disappoint.

Magnificent Magadheera – Review

magadheera-wallpaper000004We have seen Russell Crowe –  Ridley Scott’s Gladiator,   John Butler – Zack Snyder’s 300 , Brad Pitt – Wolfgang Petersen’s Troy and Jackie Chan – Stanley Tong’s The Myth , Now it’s time to see RAMCHARAN-S.S.Rajamouli’s MAGADHEERA. It’s a definite watch for everyone. You can see some outstanding performances, awesome cinematography by Senthil, Good Music by M.M Keeravani and spectacular art and Stunning Direction. The reincarnation stories are seen before but I bet you would have never seen a movie like Magadheera in the Indian Cinema. I am very happy that Tollywood is making such movies and presenting it to the Audience, thanks Geetha Arts.

Well, it’s a story about reincarnation of a warrior of a kingdom and the princess of the kingdom. The story is set in Udaygarh (shown as 400 years back) which ends with an acerb note (the warrior never expresses his love for her) and they incarnate in the present to requite their deaths. The story also involves a lewd guy who plays as a bad man in the past and in the present too.

The character Kala Bhairava played by RamCharan suited well for him and did extra ordinarily well. It’s just the incipient time for RamCharan, but we can see the how he played the character with maturity and with ease. It may take some time for him to fit in the image of his father but definitely he’s gonna make it!! He executed his dancing skills with perfection and important thing; yes he does good acting too. The action sequences are stunning (the 100 soldiers fight) and S.S.Rajamouli gets the credit for that but he needs someone to execute it the way ne needs and Charan (May) did exactly what Rajamouli wanted. His horse riding capabilities added extra showcase. Kajal a new heartthrob for many people was beautiful and dealt with the character Mitra (Princess) with ease. SriHari was awesome in his role especially in the second half (may be his role both in the first half and second half were less but they were meaningful). The comedy tracks from Suneel and Brahmanandam were disappointing and the director could have used them well. But it never, in the whole movie did show lacking of comedy. That’s Rajamouli! Well, I used to get Goosebumps in every Rajamouli’s movie (mostly just before Interval or some time), but I didn’t get any except in the scene of fighting 100 soldiers. That’s magnificent work by the director, and the actor too. The back drop of Idol of Lord Shiva was an extra attraction to the sequence. One of the scene I want to mention in the climax where Charan expresses his love (by beating the drums – sorry I don’t know what to call themJ ) and gets disappointed when Kajal leaves, his expression was emotional and showed the essence of the movie that it (the reincarnation) is just for LOVE. The only reason.

The next important thing I liked in the movies is the technical aspects of the movie. (We can see the 50 Crore budget in the movie). The cinematography was awesome in capturing many scenes. The song (Dheera Dheera was simply awesome with the art (the settings – Must Watch on 70 MM screen). The horse riding scenes were brilliant, Senthil captured well and it was definitely Rajamouli’s Mark. The vibrating effect of the camera in those riding sequences was awesome.

We can see some jumping activities in some scenes which are taken with the help of ropes like we see in many movies. But the mark (an S.S.Rajamouli Film) makes the difference. (They were dissolved in the movie).

Bottom Line: – May be not a master piece but magnificently done. Worth watching. You can see especially the technical brilliance in Magadheera.

A Salute to the MARTYRS

496px-Kargil_Op_Vijay_Memorial_1How many of us remembered the day today? At least for even one minute did we think of that day? July 27th 1999, exactly 10 years before today, India has celebrated its win over the rival Pakistan – The day has since been marked as Kargil Vijay Diwas (Kargil Victory Day) in India. By the end of this war, India had resumed control of all territory south and east of the Line of Control, as was established in July 1972 as per the Shimla Accord. It’s the victory in Kargil war. Commander Prakash Malik led India to a glorious victory. Let us pay tribute to 527 soldiers killed and salute them.

Yes, due to many circumstances we may not recognize the importance of the day. But are we only concerned about our daily schedules and our daily appointments and our daily meetings? Don’t we have time – just a minute of Silence for those who have sacrificed their life? Yes we are and we should be – we are not as irresponsible as many of our political leaders who always fight for their positions and prestige (Our CM and Opposition leader fought against each other today for bringing referendum who are least bothered about their responsibilities).

Thanks for the Media – Print media as at least they had published some articles on the importance of this day and also thanks to the Responsible electronic media (who at least are not bothered about Obama’s costly dog or Aamir khan ka kutta ka naam or at least don’t bother about who Deepika is dating – are they of any use?) to make documentaries and present them to the viewers.

We should remember some epochal situations for which we have to be proud enough. We fight to celebrate Valentine’s Day but do we just think Kargil Vijay Diwas? (Supporters of “Pink cheddi” are you listening?).

Is our government bothered about the proud parents of those martyrs? I have read in a News Paper (a responsible newspaper – referring like this is very important) regarding the parents of one of the soldier from a village who just live in hut who live with daily wages for their food. If not these people whom should the Government take care of, is it that tough for the Government to provide good shelter for them? Another proud father himself was an Air force high grade officer (Father of Major Padmapani Acharya – who died on 28 June 1999 – check this link link  http://www.bharatrakshak.com/HEROISM/Acharya.html– Don’t miss this link at least the last paragraph of the page) his father quoted saying, he is not sad of his Son had died but he is sad because INDIA has lost a brave soldier. How great he is to have given India such a brave soldier. Dear friends is it not our duty to at least know some things which we really have to? There are many such instances in many soldiers lives (present in the link above) just that we have to know and let others know the importance of those people who have sacrificed their life for sake of OUR COUNTRY . kargil-war-war-against-terror1

JAI JAWAN!!! JAI HIND!!!

Bottom line:- These are just what i have come to know ,there are many such stories not only in Kargil and as we all know, At many such situations the only hope or the only faith they give us is ” WE ARE THERE”
