There are some films which diasppoint you so much that you stop writing about movies all together, there are films which are not worth of watching leave writing about them, then there is “Arjun Reddy” which kills your sleep to write about it.
Whaaaaaat a film!
First of all , Vijay Devarakonda killed it, nailed it , what an actor. Once you see the film you cannot of think of any actor in this role who would pull the character so easily like Vijay.
When we talk about Arjun Reddy we need to talk about characters, how brilliantly crafted, and while watching the film i was feeling i was part of the movie, the actors were so naturally acting, the director has created an imaginary charcter in the film which every audience can fit in it and see whats happeing in front of their eyes. I was so absroned in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s world that i forgot i was watching a movie. One scene can define the film where Arjun’s grandmother tells him, ” let him suffer, its his personal and no one can understand what he is going thru” . Thats it, thats what the movie is about. Pain, Prejudice, sorrow, happiness, anger, love, emotions, you can see everything in one character of Arjun.
The director has has crafted the characters story so perfectly that he must have been Arjun Reddy in real life or he must have seen Arjun Reddy from very close like Arjun’s friend Shiva. Anything other than these two are literally impossible, no one would get the ideas so brilliantly pshycic if he is not from those characters.
The romantic scenes were so well shot that there was nothing vulgarity shown but pure hearted love of the protagonist. The direcror was very successful in showing the pain of Arjun , i bet he pulled every audience into his world to make them understand what is happening with Arjun.
Another character to be talked about is Arjun’s friend Shiva. To sum it all how important that charcter is , “he should have been named Krishna” , as we know what Krishna is to Arjuna in Mahabharata. He puts sense in every word he speaks, every action he does, he puts some laughs for the audience amidst the painful feelings.
The dilouges were so fantastic, you will be mesmerized with some words on how well and how perfectly they were timed to be spelled out. You need to watch the movie to understand how beautifully the dilouges were placed. The background score was terrific and so intense that it matched the intriguing performance of the lead character.
Thats all for now , signing off at 2:36 AM , but will surely write about this more.
PS: Vijay Deverakonda has created a new name for himself in Telugu cinema with his performance, way to go , and kudos to the director and his guts to make a film like Arjun Reddy.
I dont know why the reviewers display so much misery that even ratings are given like 3.5 , 3.75, 3.25 – looks like beram(bargaining) in Vegetable matket as if they are giving the ratings out of their pocket.
Give a full hearted 5 to films which are over the top.
Arjun Reddy- 5/5
