Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani – A Sour Cocktail.

Ajab-Prem-Ki-Ghazab-Kahani1Have you ever had a cocktail, mixture of all juices and when it touches your tongue, you will have a different taste. Same is the case with this movie, mixture of many movies given in a new package. Well here cocktail is given in a stylish cup in fact a colorful cup, I mean the actors in this movie (Ranbir and Katrina). Even when you have a cocktail you will feel a new taste but this movie was no new except in the cast and the locations. Well, its interesting that Rajkumar Santoshi has made this movie mixing all hit scenes in many movie. Raj why did you make this movie? I think you made this movie to make people think and scratch their heads thinking, ‘In which movie I have seen this scene?’

Well coming to the story line, I will put this in the form of an equation. Prem (Chopra) loves Jenny (Jennifer – Katrina), But Katrina loves  Rahul (Upen Patel). But Father of Rahul is a villain not accepting their love, so it becomes  Rahul (Villain in between) Jenny , but Ranbir as a lover wanted Jenny to be happy so he kidnaps her and takes her to Rahul ( guys have you seen Telugu block buster Arya). Now it will be too clear what it is about. At last Rahul + Jenny – Prem, An inequality. So the director has solved this inequality by removing Rahul from the above equation and adding Prem, now it has become Jenny+Prem. And at last as I expected the climax ends in the marriage of Jenny with Rahul, the same old concept of heroine saying ‘No…………. I don’t love you, I love Prem” What the F!@#.

I really want to see that type of situation in real life when the bride realizes after she is tying knot with the other person. Hmmm think about (Namaste London, Mujhe Kuch kehna hei, Arya, Nuvve Kavali, Ready, current etc). But I think that is possible only with film makers. As in real life people are at least little intelligent and realize that they love some other person and the marriage will not be going onto the sets. (I definitely mean how the characterization of the heroines is up to in the Indian movies).

Well there are couple of good points about the movie, like the Comedy (only in some parts of the movie), the songs and the picturisation of the songs, the hero and the heroine. The dialogue of Prem’s dad in the end fighting sequence was humorous and the best I have seen in this movie. In one scene Sallu Bhai enters, (Even if this happens truly in real life I can say that Katrina is my close chap and when I call her as Katy she comes near and talks to me and saying to my friends that ‘ He is my close chap’ ). How AJAB scene.( nee to see the movie to understand).

Coming to technical department the cinematography was awesome especially for the song ‘Tu Jaane na…’. The music was good (Pritam), background (Salim – Suleiman) – Not noticed. The screenplay fell flat, didn’t understand some scenes in the movie like how Katrina got kidnapped, and the scenes where a comedy scene appears and then suddenly out of that conversation the movie goes emotional. The comedy in some parts of the movies was ridiculous where I felt I laughed 10 years back for such type of comedy and there is nothing to laugh in this movie, not even smile. The climax comedy was gone haywire. Acting wise Ranbir was too good and katty has improved a lot lot lot. And there was nothing Ajab with Prem as he was clear that he loves Jenny , but Ajab was Jenny who doesn’t know whom she was loving, I thought the title should be re-written as Ajab Jenny Ki Ghazab Kahani.

Bottom Line: – Well, they should have made an animated movie with this kind of script as children would have liked it more. Yes it was made for children.

Ek Niranjan – Movie Review

EkNiranjan03_800_230909Puri is back with a commercial entertainer pitching in Prabhas in the leading role and introducing bollywood bombshell Kangana Ranaut in this action packed flick. Well Puri has done this movie on contractual basis with Aditya Ram movies. So maybe it looked like he was forced to pen down this script without any experimentation. It’s the same characterization of the hero’s character like his previous films with some more attraction to it.

Coming to the storyline Chotu (Prabhas) estranged from his parents at young and involved in a kind of slum dog’s beggary theme. He hands over criminals to police and makes money while he grows up. He meets Sameera (Kangana) in a incident where he hands over her brother to the police. And the chemistry continues and as usual he will be involved in chaos of the villain Jaggu Bhai (Sonu Sood) and the story continues with both of them encountering throughout the movie till the end. At the end he finds his parents.

Well here nothing to mention about the story line but the thing to be mentioned here is the characterization of the Hero and the Villain. Prabhas was extraordinary in his role as Chotu and no doubt that he has done it well, in fact awesome. His dialogue delivery has made people clap in the cinemas. The fights and the violence sequences were very handled by him and the body language was perfect package for him in this role. Coming to the villain characterization Sonu Sood has done really well as a rowdy with a bit of comedy touch. It was a kind of psychopath character but he was not a psycho. May not be equally to be mentioned when compared to the hero but definitely will be a reason if the film is going to be a hit. The heroine’s character was ok and hmm anybody would have suited for that role, so nothing to be discussed. The humorous part of the film has gone haywire. (I think maybe this is the effect of the rush in scripting by the director where he intends to complete the film and should go on to the cinemas ASAP due to contractual agreements with the producer).

The technical department was at its best and no negative about that. The stunts are a major asset for the movie and were shot very well unlike those were in Bujjugadu. The fighting sequences were very well shown and those suits only for those who have a body language like Prabhas. The music was scored by Mani Sharma and as usual good tunes can say very well. The title song is simply awesome. Movie involved a song with Michael Jackson’s Dangerous tune with Telugu lyrics and it was a tribute to the King of POP (Listen to the lyrics carefully and they are meaningful).

Bottom Line: – Go watch it once its nowhere boring, can give a try.

IngloUrious BastErds – Glourious

Movie, “Inglourious Basterds,” is a highly acclaimed film with a well-honed script and excellent characterization. The film is set in German-occupied France and follows the story of a group of Jewish American soldiers known as “The Basterds,” who plan to enter occupied France and carry out a mission to kill Nazis. The film features a standout performance by Christoph Waltz as Nazi Colonel Hans Landa and Brad Pitt as the head of the Basterds, Raine. The film is a masterful blend of drama, humor, and action, with standout scenes including a shootout in a bar and a dramatic climax. The film’s technical elements, such as cinematography and sound, are also noteworthy. Overall, “Inglourious Basterds” is a film that stands out for its script, characterization, and attention to detail and is well worth watching.Inglourious_Basterds_poster

The movie starts in the backdrop of German-occupied France with a Nazi colonel Hans Landa (played by Christoph Waltz), killing a Jewish family and leaving a girl of that family for mercy. Now a group of Jewish American soldiers (The bastards) is formed and plan to enter the land of France occupied by Germany. The head of the group Raine (Brad Pitt) has the plot to kill the Nazis ghastly (mainly trouncing) to make the Germans know their presence. The girl Shosanna (who was left with mercy by the colonel) plans a plot to burn the cinema that she owns as there was a German premiere that would be attended by many superior Nazi officials, including the Fuehrer. And at last, the girl and the Bustards are successful in their plot, leaving Shosanna to die.

Well, this is not the movie, as every character and every scene in the film was overwhelming. Especially the character of Colonel Hans Landa, played by Christoph Waltz, was with a surge of the ordinance. All the characters are given equally important and are really important as you cannot miss any of the scenes in the movie. A bar shootout sequence was awesome (watch in a cinema to enjoy the sequence). The technical part of the movie… hmmm, just go watch to have it experienced. The climax has its own glamour.

This is the best example of a great film that solely depends on the script and the characterization. Let’s wait and see how many awards it is going to bag in the year, including the Academy Awards.

Bottom Line: – Two-way thumbs up for the movie, which is gloriously made. – It’s the INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS.
