The Constant Gardner – “Love, At any cost”

Today in Netflix i had filtered the genres of movies by Thriller,Gritty, Suspenseful, emotional i came across a movie – ” The Constant Gardner”. After long long time i felt like writing about a movie after watching this and definitely wanted to write after watching some regional craps.

The Constant Gardner is a tough movie to pen down because though it’s not really about anything interesting, it has a lot happening in it.Its the way its happening.

The Constant Gardner is beautifully shot and wonderfully acted by a group of diverse Hollywood and international actors. Rachel Weisz displayed her acting skills to an extent which she surely gets nominated for any kinda award. That doesn’t mean they dominate the film though, everyone’s given their spot to shine. It’s an ensemble actor’s dream, a series of vignettes strung together in a way that maximizes their screen time. To experience more of this comments, lively …………………watch it!!!

That’s important to this film because the director tries  to make you gasp, to make you cringe, to have you sucking your breath in and wrinkling your brow and raging inside at the absurd carelessness of it all. Everyone in The Constant Gardner is shown to be powerful, to greater and lesser degrees, but the character who gets the shortest end of the stick is Tess(Rachel Weisz). You spend half the movie watching an unavoidable transaction with cruel destiny.

The director wants you to feel all the pain, to catch every nuance of meaning and The Constant Gardner is an art-house blockbuster in high-concept of present world. But the film is so rigid in concept, so intoxicated by what its director surely reckons to be a breathtaking humanism, that its meaning is allowed to flower in the viewer’s mind only when one finds room for ambiguity. The rest — children shot to death in the African desert — people being exploited and tested with drugs.

PS: really loved the Tagline of the Movie – “Love, At any cost”

Rock Star – More a love story!!!

I think Imitiaz Ali didn’t get out of the mood of love stories, break up and love after marriages. In Rock star he never did concentrate on Love or the rise and fall of a Rock star. He was not able to execute it impeccably. Music was mainly a plus point of the movie but may be it may not help as the script is sidetracked with the main theme.

It was a more a Romeo and Juliet kinda thing, but definitely not a Rock star’s movie (as shown in the trailers). One thing we need to mention here is the intriguing performance of Ranbir, I would say that, if Saif had got the National award for his performance in Hum Tum, then I can say the next award winner should be RK. His totally jelled in the roles of or I would say characters of naïve Janrdan and the Rockstar Jordan. Nargis reminded of Katrina in each and every scene of the movie.

Saada Haq was fantastic and the best track in the movie. Music comes out of pain and sorrow is the main theme of the movie but something else has been portrayed in the movie, it was majorly a love story and nothing about the personal life of a Rockstar. The amalgam was not perfect; more importance was given to the thing called love. So if you like love stories and you feel emotional, then Rockstar is a perfect movie. But one thing I mention her e again that Ranbir’s versatility as a Rockstar amazed everyone.

To be short and precise – the Movie is good, just good, it’s more of a love story than a movie portrayed the life of a Rockstar, AR Rahman’s music was soul for the movie and watch it for Ranbir’s fascinating performance in the movie.

Dhada – Devastating worthless movie!!

Dhada – bakwaas story with stunts copied from Hollywood movies like , Sherlock Holmes, Tokyo Drift, Dark Knight, scarface, bourne series, inglorious basterds, district b13 etc.

How can any film maker be that stupid to make a movie like Dhada, even if we listen to the story anyone can say it will be a flop, BTW I did not find any story in this movie.

One scene which all says about the bakwaas shown in the movie is, when some tens of people round the hero and make him kneel down , the dialogue in Hero’s words “ Ela chastav nuvvu, options istunna….blah blah blah” come on man be realistic what is being shown on the screen when some is pointing guns towards his head and this guy speaks crap about killing a Mafia Villian. One bullet – khel khatam, all crappy dialogues. Sense less comedy “wtf he is trying to show “ A tiger eating snickers and getting away…talking to tiger. It was seriously devastating watching this movie. Spending 50/- for this movie…need to think , as you may get something worthful for 50/-,

All the scenes copied from different English movies (makki ki makki) , clubbing it and making a telugu movie “This only means that “ People who are making these kinda movies are just neglecting people and belittling us and filling their pockets by cheating us. When everyone stops watching these kinda movies then I think they will give some good final product.other wise this trend of badrinath, veera ,dhada etc will continue.

PS: We should have a consumer forum for movies to make a complaint if we watch nonsense by investing money. (its just like buying some expiry dated or some faulty product after investing). Bull Shit!!!

Art of Making a Telugu Cinema:- Lost its Charisma?

Foreword: This topic I have written over frustration after watching a telugu movie recently which is a total crap, so below topic its not too professional just a casual scribbling.

Requirements for making a movie in Telugu(not all but most of):

A big star or his relatives or his siblings or his sons, then select a big producer who can invest huge amount of money without knowing why? Select a Heroine who will say “if the character demands I am ok for skin show”, And select a music director and give him money to compose music for six songs (without knowing whether they are required or not) , technicians , book theatres , sometimes decide the name irrespective of what the movie us about, then they go for the Muhurtham of the movie to put it on sets.

Is this all? I think they have missed something, the most important thing; it plays the vital role in deciding the success …guess what is it??? The STORY.

Without this the makers are jumping to make a movie not even knowing when to end this, why they are doing this. Recently a movie which was publicized as saying High budget movie, the producers son himself was the lead for that movie, and guess what the writer of the movie said “On Indian screen nobody has seen such type of story”, after watching that then we can understand what importance they are giving for that important thing before making a movie.

I Recently I have seen another movie starring one of the stars son, he mentioned , in his words “ I was interested in doing this movie as I got a lover boy image and by this movie it will washed away and I wanted be called as a Mass Hero”? Why???? I have seen that movie.. so growing beard , long hair and 6 songs and sense less humor will not make any movie hit.

Lets take some neighbor state movies, especially Tamil movies, recently I have seen a movie which has only two songs which we do not unnecessary and simple humor , but why is this a Hit?? It has STORY, which is the Hero for any movie. Just depend on the story it will show you the result which a 40 crore budgets or any other Mass movie will not show…Why is this possible with some of the movies? What I think is it will very near to the reality which our movies wont, whatever they show will be something very real the environment , the story etc.

We have to even mention about the so called STARS of our film industry, why they want to do the same formula movies? Do they really make them for the people, some people say that they make them for the B and C grade centers, and they get what they invest , but one question doood, why do you need to spend so much then, spend less and make good movies. People see those movies and producers get their money but what people talk about? I asked my car diver (he takes a front seat ticket for whom the industry people call B & C center public) , in his words “ Sir, we just got for movies for time pass so we take the least ticket and will watch movie for 2-3 hrs and will come home and sleep. But these days our telugu movies are worst , I don’t know why they are making such crap(he used word bakwaas) , when dubbed tamil people are making good movies”. So producers question for you, you release with so many prints and you get money and publicize with some cheesy sentences like” All time industry record collections, Veera collections, bumper collections, super duper openings, “ but what about the movie?

Lets talk about our so called stars, before that I have seen a Hindi Movie named as ZNMD , it has a super star who , but he acted in that movie which has equal importance to all the artists , what I say is Hats off to the actor( I am saying actor, not star only we have stars). Keep the stardom aside for some obvious reasons , make good movies, in olden days there were super hit movies , 100 days movies, 175 days, not its not the trend, only collections make movies hit??? Pls don’t say that……

Talked so much about this its never ending so ending it here……………….

PS: For people who say” Dude, movie making is a business , they concentrate on money who the hell want are you satisfied or not”, for them I say if it is called as business , then every business has a basic rule called “Customer Satisfaction” , are they looking for it??? If they say their money their wish , then I say get out of the monopoly which some 4-5 producers having , they book the theaters and they want the theaters to run what these people want to run…. This should happen otherwise The Government  should take some serious action on the monopoly (which is totally according to the law is illegal).
